PROGRESSION
- Clear pathways to quickly progress to a tennis ‘playing’ standard and beyond.
- Option to progress from an absolute beginner to professional level, should you desire.
- The group placement of students aims to meet the needs of both player and parents.
TIME SAVING
- Children aged 3-13 can be coached in a different level of tennis lesson AT THE SAME TIME, providing time efficiency for families.
MONEY SAVING
- Missed lessons can be made up, at NO ADDED COST.
- We encourage you to replace your missed lesson, within the term, no questions asked: too sick, too tired, too hot, too much homework…whatever your reason, we want to support you.
What to expect:
- Orange Ball 7-9 Hotshots is aimed at 7-9 year olds.
- Some children will be capable of starting younger, but this is a general guide.
- Your coach will remain the same throughout the term, click here to meet our coaches.
Orange Ball 7-9 Lessons will teach the following skills:
Movement and Spatial Awareness: Move in different ways, such as:- running, jumping, striding, leaping, small stepping, hopping, skipping, side stepping, side skipping, low and high movement.
- How to combine and switch different movements.
- Move in different areas of the court.
- Awareness of the lines on the court and the space of the court.
- Movement drills will be fun and game based.
- Games will include the racquet and ball and without the racquet and ball.
Tracking:
- How to track the speed and depth of moving balls.
- Have fun playing game based exercises.
Throwing and Catching:
- Proper throwing and catching techniques are important skills for tennis, but also many other sports.
- Your child will be taught the correct technique to throw and catch.
- Throwing and catching supports hand eye coordination, balance, focus, spatial awareness, depth perception.
Forehand & Backhand:
- Basic swing patterns will be taught and children will have the chance to hit many balls during their lesson.
Forehand & Backhand Volleys:
- Introduction to forehand & backhand volleys through game play.
Serving:
- Introduction to basic swing pattern of the serve.
- Teaching that the serve starts the point in tennis.
Skills Progression:
- Skills will be taught in a fun, game based and inclusive environment.
- Children will be confident to complete all skills proficiently.
- Children will be competent enough to progress to GREEN Ball HOTSHOTS.

- 7-9 year olds.
How long does Junior ORANGE BALL 7-9 last?
- 60 minutes.
How much does a session cost?
- $210 for 10 weeks.
What equipment do I need to play?
- Receive a FREE junior tennis racquet when you first sign up for the term.
- Trial racquets available.
- We can advise you on correct racquet size and weight.
- Comfortable Clothes.
- Trainers/Tennis shoes.
- Water bottle/Sports drink.
- Towel.
- Sunscreen available.
